Welcome to
Christ Church Ventura
a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA)

Going to church sometimes feels like going to the mall, sounds like the radio, looks like the club, smells like the coffee shop, tastes like donuts, but satisfies nothing. Come recover the ancient beauty of sacred worship and delight yourself in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our PCA family of churches is growing and establishing new fellowships here on the west coast. Christ Church Ventura is a newly planted, small, but growing congregation that seeks to gather all those who long for spiritual comfort, personal growth, genuine community, and gospel worship.

We trust you will find this information helpful whether you are a member or visitor. If you are visiting our site and looking for a church home, we invite you to join us in worship this Sunday.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT CHRIST CHURCH VENTURA

“We find Christ Church Ventura to be a welcoming place, where our family of six is able to sit together and worship our Savior, united as a family. How encouraging it is to see our children growing in their faith in Christ, as they actively participate with us in the worship service!”  — Becky Blank

“The “high” worship service at Christ Church Ventura is a unique medium which has resonance with us. The service is 1-1/2 hours long, yet I have never once looked at my watch. The whole service is conducted by the pastor, which leaves the spiritual spell unbroken by lay participation which I have found a distraction at times in most other church services. There is extensive reading of scripture, creeds and prayers. The content is all different from Sunday to Sunday but the form is very traditional and consistent capturing a true sense of worship. Sermons are very good and there is communion every Sunday. Before settling into Christ Church Ventura we visited 28 church services in Ventura County. This is a truly unique worship experience in which the Holy Spirit reaches us. It is not for everyone, but that is the genius of Christ’s church.”  — Dwight & Loretta Lindholm

“Today it is popular to hear relational felt needs emphasized in modern preaching. Having witnessed first hand the drift of churches into nothing more than a culturally influenced entertainment experience, the return to an historic Gospel centered emphasis at Christ Church Ventura has proven to be a life changing experience for me and my family. Our family chose this church for its grace centered community and personal pastoral care. —  Kerry Chapman
